FG Declares September 27 A Public Holiday For Eid-El-Maulud

The Federal Government announced Wednesday, September 27, as a public holiday to observe Eid-el-Maulud, honouring the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, conveyed this on behalf of the government in Abuja. He extended congratulations to the Muslim Ummah both within and outside Nigeria for being part of this occasion.

Tunji-Ojo emphasized the importance of embracing the Prophet's values of love, patience, tolerance, and perseverance. He urged Nigerians, particularly the youth, to adopt a strong work ethic and a peaceful approach towards others, regardless of differences.

Additionally, he encouraged everyone to support President Bola Tinubu's administration in building a progressive and admirable nation. Tunji-Ojo conveyed warm wishes for a joyful celebration to the Muslim Ummah.

Public Holiday On Monday 11th And Tuesday 12 July 2022

The Federal Government has declared Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th July, 2022, as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, who made the declaration on behalf of the federal government, congratulated all Muslims and Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora on this occasion.

The declaration was made in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Shuaib Belgore in Abuja.
