President Tinubu Appoints Dayo Mobereola As Nimasa D-G

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Dayo Mobereola, to serve as the Director-General (DG) of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) for a renewable term of four years.

The appointment follows the exit of Bashir Jamoh, whose tenure recently expired.

Mobereola’s appointment was disclosed by the Special Adviser to the President of Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, in a statement.

The new NIMASA GG holds a Ph.D. and an M.Sc. in Transport Economics from the University of Wales, United Kingdom. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Transport, in England, and a fellow of the same institute in Nigeria.

He was the Managing Director of the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) from 2003 to 2015 and was also the Commissioner for Transportation in Lagos State from 2015 to 2016.

Tinubu Appoints 6 New Executive Directors For NPA, NIMASA

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointments of six new executive directors for two agencies under the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy; the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).

Those appointed as NPA executive directors include Vivian Edet (Finance and Administration) and Olalekan Badmus (Marine & Operations).

While the appointees at NIMASA are Jibril Abba (Maritime Labour and Cabotage Services) and Chudi Offodile (Finance and Administration).

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale announced their appointments in a statement.

Ngelale explained that Tinubu believes that the appointees would use their “collective mandate to create the conditions required to significantly raise the contribution of the Marine and Blue Economy sector to the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
