Robert Lewandowski Chastised For His Behavior Towards Lamine Yamal

Robert Lewandowski’s lifesaving LaLiga appearance against Alavés was marred by a display of rudeness towards young striker Lamine Yamal, with the Pole’s antics sharply criticized by several voices surrounding Barça.

Lewandowski, 33, is 21 years older than Lamine Yamal. Any La Masia product is highly popular at Barça, especially a young lad who has only recently joined the first squad and has already made an impact. Although Lewandowski did protect him when Duarte went after him after a dive for a penalty, no one expected the former Bayern Munich star, who is generally exceptional in dealing with his teammates, to display this side of his personality.

Former Barcelona player Gerard López called the behavior “unacceptable” on Spanish television network Movistar Plus. Gerard Autet of Catalan media source Esport 3 also criticized the senior player’s actions, adding that “things like this happen, but it is a disproportionate, bad reaction.”

The forward was also attacked by authoritative press voices. Llus Flaquer, one of Spain’s most respected Barcelona analysts, described the behavior as “out of place,” while Joan Mara Pou, a Catalan commentator for Barcelona-based RAC-1, tweeted that “this ugly move from Lewandowski is not a sign of a good leader.” Dani Garrido, the host of Carrusel Deportivo, possibly Spain’s largest football radio show, merely said it was “regrettable.”

Lamine Yamal Sets 21st Century Record In La Liga With Assist For Barcelona Against Villareal

Lamine Yamal, a Barcelona teen sensation, engraved his name in the sands of time with his assist for Barcelona during their La Liga match against Villarreal on Sunday afternoon.

Yamal set up another of Barcelona’s young stars, Gavi, with a lofted cross into the box, which the latter deftly completed to give La Blaugrana the lead.

After 12 minutes, the Yamal-Gavi combination put Xavi Hernandez’s charges ahead. While the advantage was crucial for the defending La Liga winners, it was also a watershed moment for Lamine.

According to Opta, Yamal became the youngest player in the 21st century to record a La Liga assist at the age of 16 and 45 days.

By passing Ansu Fati, another La Masia alumnus and current holder of the legendary No.10 shirt, the 16-year-old became the youngest player in La Liga this century.

Ex-Arsenal Flop Lucas Perez Scores Brace On Dream Return To Deportivo La Coruna

Lucas Perez, a former Arsenal striker, made a fantastic homecoming to Deportivo La Coruna, scoring a double in his first game back.

The Spaniard recently secured a return to the third-division club – having left to join Arsenal in 2016 – by reportedly paying part of his own transfer fee to leave LaLiga side Cadiz.

Perez, 34, re-signed with Deportivo on a one-and-a-half year contract and has already made an impact with a brace on his debut.

After paying a portion of the £440,000 (€500,000) transfer price set by Cadiz in the summer, the ex-West Ham striker made his comeback in Deportivo’s league match against Unionistas de Salamanca on Sunday night.

Deep into extra time, he doubled his score for the night after collecting the ball inside the penalty area and neatly placed his shot beyond the Salamanca goalie.

‘It was fantastic,’ Perez remarked after the game, referring to his return to the Riazor. What I enjoyed the most was the great atmosphere.

Lewandowski Scores First FC Barcelona Brace In Big Win Over Real Sociedad

Robert Lewandowski scored a brace as FC Barcelona cruised to a 4-1 victory at Real Sociedad on Sunday, their first win of the new La Liga season.

Spanish teenage sensation Ansu Fati came off the bench in the second half and took charge of the proceedings with two assists and a goal.

Fati had been struggling to recover after a series of knee surgeries in the last two years.

Lewandowski, who was celebrating his birthday, opened the scoring in the first minute of the game, rifling in a shot after a great pass from Alejandro Balde inside the penalty area.

But Alexander Isak equalized five minutes later after latching onto a pass from David Silva.

FC Barcelona struggled to break the deadlock until coach Xavi Hernandez sent on Raphinha and Fati in the 64th minute, with both proving crucial to the visitors’ success.

Fati assisted Ousmane Dembele with a brilliant heel pass after a fine piece of individual play from Raphinha.

Then Fati finished a beautiful team effort to assist Lewandowski for their third goal.

The Polish striker returned the favour 10 minutes later, enabling 19-year-old Fati to score FC Barcelona’s fourth to wrap up the points.
