Elon Musk, the owner of X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, has reinstated the account of renowned American singer and fashion designer Kanye Omari West, commonly known as Kanye West or Ye.
According to the Wall Street Journal, the company confirmed on Saturday that while the singer's account has been restored, he will not be allowed to monetize it, and no ads will appear alongside his posts.
Presently, Kanye West's account boasts 31.5 million followers and is marked with a golden verification tick, signifying that X recognizes it as an official business account.
Recalling events from December 2022, it was noted that the rapper's account was suspended for violating the platform's rules on inciting violence due to multiple antisemitic comments.
As of now, it remains unclear whether Kanye submitted an appeal or if another factor prompted the reactivation of his account, as the singer has yet to make any posts on the platform.
