FG Nets N1.8B From Sale Of Forfeited Assets – Malami

The Federal Government has realized over N1.8 billion from the sale of forfeited properties.

It has also recovered about 6.3 million pounds, 5.49 million euros and 390 million dollars from countries where looted funds were kept.

The Attorney-General of the Federal (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), spoke on the proceeds and recovered funds in Abuja yesterday at the 18th edition of the Buhari Administration Scorecard (2015-2023.

He said while some of the funds were deployed to social investment programmes for the poor, others are being expended on key national infrastructure.

He also spoke on some of the challenges in his ministry in the fight against corruption.

Federal Executive Council Okays 2011-2025 National Development Plan Worth N348.7trn Investments

The Federal Executive Council has approved the 2011-2025 National Development Plan (NDP), which is a successor programme to the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP).

The plan has an investment size of N348.7 trillion to be contributed by the federal, state governments and the private sector.

Briefing correspondents after the council meeting presided over by Vice President YEMI OSINBAJO at the presidential villa, Abuja, Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, ZAINAB AHMED explained that the plan is structured on economic growth and development, infrastructure, public administration, human capital development, social development and regional development.

President Buhari Travels To Saudi Arabia For Investment Summit, Lesser Hajj  

President Muhammadu Buhari is set to depart for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to participate in the investment conference organized by the Future Investment Initiative Institute.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President, Media & Publicity, Garba Shehu.

The three-day event, with the theme, Investment in Humanity, which will host global executives and asset managers, will deliberate on progress and prosperity with energy; true final frontiers in investments; science in action; and impact of climate change on communities among others.

President Buhari will thereafter perform the lesser Hajj in Madina & Makka before returning to the country on Friday.
