Grammy-Winning Producer Rexxie: From Challenging Beginnings To Stardom

Nigerian record producer, DJ, and songwriter Ezeh Chisom Faith, professionally known as Rexxie, is an award-winning producer and a two-time Grammy Award winner.

In an interview with Inspiration FM, he expressed his profound gratitude for his Grammy victories. He revealed that his motivation to pursue a music career was rooted in the challenging times during his school days when he stopped receiving financial support from his parents due to his mother's illness.

When asked how he managed to create music during the lockdown, he explained that being a producer didn't yield the expected financial returns. This compelled him to work harder to start producing his music and establish a record label with artists like Zlatan, Dapper, and the late Mohbad. His determination was fueled by his desire to create music.

Addressing the evolving role of producers in propelling artists to stardom, Rexxie observed that, at times, producers demand an excessive percentage of an artist's earnings. He believed some producers seek too much, hindering an artist's success.

Rexxie's hit songs, such as "Abracadabra," were born from Skibii's ideas, and "Fotifoyin" stands as one of his most successful records.

Discussing his collaboration with the renowned Wizkid, Rexxie conveyed his profound satisfaction and his belief in Wizkid's influence. He shared a memorable moment when Wizkid told him, "I see us making a massive club banger someday, man!" and expressed his continued enthusiasm for this prospect.

When asked about the controversies surrounding Naira Marley and the tragic passing of Mohbad, Rexxie expressed a deep concern. He maintained that his business and personal relationships with both artists made these situations hit close to home. He chose to remain silent, hoping that justice would prevail, despite acknowledging the challenges of defining justice in his part of the world.

Buhari Keeps Nigerians in Suspense, Shifts Signing of Electoral Act Amendment Bill till Tomorrow

As Nigerians wait with baited breath for the signing of the re-worked Electoral Act Amendment Bill by President Muhammadu Buhari, a presidential source has said the President will sign the Bill on Friday, February 25.

A source close to the Presidency, who had earlier indicated that the President would assent to the bill on Wednesday, confirmed the new date.

It was learnt that President Buhari will honor the new date.

Inspiration FM reports that on January 25, lawmakers in the Senate and House of Representatives chambers of the National Assembly passed the harmonized version of the bill.

The harmonized version was received by President Buhari a week later, as confirmed by his Senior Special Assistant on NASS Matters (Senate), Senator Babajide Omoworare.

President Buhari withheld his assent to the bill in November 2021, citing the cost of conducting direct primary elections, security challenges, and possible manipulation of electoral processes by political players as part of the reasons for his decision.

A member of the Civil Society Group and Rights Activist, Achike Chude said it is now or never for President BUHARI to do the needful.

But reacting, the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, said President Buhari was within his constitutional right to carefully study the Amendment Act before deciding to sign or not to.
