Here Are 6 Ways To Celebrate Valentine’s Day At Work

With Valentine’s Day coinciding with a workday this year, ensuring the celebration isn’t overlooked is important. Whether you’re an employee or employer, here are six ideas to consider:

  1. Organize a team lunch: Encourage colleagues to bring dishes representing their cultural backgrounds or favourite cuisines for a diverse and enjoyable meal.
  2. Exchange Valentine’s Day cards or gifts: Foster a positive work environment by having employees write heartfelt messages to each other, expressing appreciation and gratitude.
  3. Arrange a team-building activity: A Valentine’s Day scavenger hunt around the office can promote collaboration and excitement as employees work together to solve clues and find hidden surprises.
  4. Set up a temporary photo booth: Create a corner in the office with props and decorations for colleagues to take memorable Valentine’s Day photos during their breaks, fostering lasting memories.
  5. Participate in a charity drive: organize a donation collection or volunteer activity to give back to the community, strengthening bonds among colleagues while making a positive impact.
  6. Host an after-work hangout: Take the celebration outside the office for some relaxation and bonding, providing an opportunity for coworkers to connect on a personal level away from work-related stress.

Yul Edochie Criticizes Arise Tv Presenter Rufai Oseni’s Conduct

Prominent Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has taken a strong stance against Arise TV presenter Rufai Oseni regarding his recent behaviour towards guests on the show.

Oseni's clash with Jesutega Onokpasa, a leading member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), during a show on Monday stirred controversy.

During the interview, Oseni and Onokpasa disagreed over President Bola Tinubu's decision to remove fuel subsidies and the overall economic situation in Nigeria. This contentious exchange prompted widespread reactions, particularly from supporters of the current administration, who accused Oseni of displaying bias.

In response to these developments, Yul Edochie posted a video on his Instagram account in which he did not mince words in expressing his disapproval of Oseni's behaviour. He urged Oseni to refrain from speaking and labelled him as disrespectful. Edochie also raised concerns about Oseni's actions, highlighting an incident where Oseni was caught driving in a BRT lane in Lagos and initially failed to apologise until video evidence surfaced.

Edochie remarked, "My friend, shut up and sit down! I'm talking to you! You have no right; you don't have any moral justification to speak where people with integrity are having a conversation! You are uttering nonsense on national television, and you come across as a very disrespectful person, showing no regard for the laws of this country."

He continued, "If, by some chance, someone like you were to become president, you would not be any different from others. Are you not the same person captured driving in a BRT lane? You didn't even offer an apology until video evidence surfaced. Imagine the other instances we haven't seen. Who taught you journalism? The first lesson should have been to respect your guests."

Edochie emphasized, "You are not superior to anyone out there. You are very disrespectful, and you need to learn the fundamentals of journalism. Insulting people on national television is unwarranted. Rufai Oseni, you are not superior to any Nigerian."

Yul Edochie's critique serves as a reminder of the importance of respectful discourse and fair treatment of guests on national television, reflecting broader concerns about the conduct of media personalities during public discussions.

Tinubu Pledges End To Reign Of Terror And Insecurity

President Bola Tinubu has to be interested in devolving internal security powers to the states to address insecurity in the country.

This was the view of Security Analyst Onyekachi Adekoya in an interview with Inspiration FM.

This charge is coming amid the rising spate of insecurity across the country. In Benue state, gunmen killed an octogenarian and former Chairman of Katsina-Ala and Ukum Local Government Area, Elder Washima Erukaa.

Also, at the weekend, a lecturer at the Federal University of Technology (FUT) Minna in Niger State, Dr Sherifat Adefolalu, was found in a pool of blood with her throat slit and knives found beside her.

In Zamfara, bandits abducted the district head of Ruwan Rana in Bukkuyum Local Government Area of the State, Magaji Makau and five others.

While in Kwara, one person was killed and two others abducted when gunmen invaded Ora around 8 p.m. on Saturday.

For an effective security system in the country, Adekoya called for an investment in community-based security while noting that the federal system is overwhelmed.
