Kaduna Governor El-Rufai Calls for Decisive Measures to End Reign of Terror in Northeast

Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State says Nigeria stands the risk of being overrun by bandits unless the Federal Government takes decisive measures to end the reign of terror building up in the Northeast.

The governor, while speaking at a media briefing organised by the Presidential Media Team in Abuja, also disclosed that his state spends over N200 million monthly to tackle insecurity.

Governor El- Rufai revealed that the government has identified where the bandits are.

The Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to declare bandits causing mayhem in the North-West as terrorists.

El-Rufai, who made the call when he received the third quarter security report from the state’s Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, in Kaduna, said the declaration of bandits as terrorists would inspire the Nigerian military to attack and kill the bandits without breaching international law.

 

The National Assembly had recently asked President Muhammadu Buhari to declare the bandits as terrorists.

El-Rufai Appoints 28-Year-Old Khalil As Head Of Investment Agency

The governor announced changes to his cabinet on Monday.

Kaduna Governor Nasir el-Rufai has appointed 28-year-old Khalil Nur Khalil as Executive Secretary of the Kaduna Investment Promotion Agency (KADIPA).

Khalil is a graduate of Business and Economics, Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Cyprus.

Before his appointment, Khalil was the Investment Intelligence Director at KADIPA--the youngest person to assume the role in Kaduna's history.

El-Rufai has a knack for drafting young people into his cabinet.

El-Rufai Asks Pastor Enoch Adeboye, To Expand His Church To Kaduna

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor ENOCH ADEBOYE, has met with the Kaduna state Governor, NASIR EL-RUFAI.

The meeting was held at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House in Kadunadays after some RCCG members who were abducted in the state were released.

Members of RCCG, Region 30, Trinity Sanctuary, Kaduna, were attacked on March 26 near Doka along the Kachia-Kafanchan Road, on their way to a programme.

At the meeting, Pastor ADEBOYE assured Governor EL-RUFAI of victory in the state.

On his part, Governor EL-RUFAI thanked the cleric for the visit, while seeking prayers from the RCCG to end the security challenges confronting the state.
