Boko Haram A Plot To Destroy Nigeria – Buhari

During the Bishops’ visit, President Muhammadu Buhari told the Catholic priests’ delegation that Boko Haram was a fraudulent plot to destroy Nigeria.

He faulted the ideology of the terrorist group which barred people from seeking knowledge thereby affecting the intellectual growth of citizens.

President Buhari assured them that the gains recorded in security would be further consolidated, and more attention would be given to the economy, before handing over on the 29th of May.

In his remarks, leader of the delegation and President of the CBCN, Most Reverend Lucius Ugorji commended the President for reforms in the electoral system, making it more stable and fair, particularly the signing of the Electoral Bill into law.

APC Presidential Candidate, Tinubu Says Former President Obasanjo Is Not Worthy To Recommend Presidential Candidate To Nigerians

Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), fired back yesterday at former President Olusegun Obasanjo, saying the ex-president was not competent to suggest or support anybody as President of Nigeria due to his failings.

The APC flagbearer said yesterday at the APC Presidential Campaign rally held at the University of Benin Sports Complex, Ugbowo Campus, Benin, that Obasanjo failed to develop the country when he had the opportunity, instead fighting his then vice president, Atiku Abubakar, while accusing each other of spending the country’s money for their personal comfort.

The former Lagos Governor was replying to Obasanjo’s new year’s letter, in which he backed Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, and stated Tinubu and the PDP presidential candidate were unfit to lead the nation at this time.

Corruption: Buhari Launches Project Monitoring App, Eyemark

President Muhammadu Buhari has launched the National Monitoring and Evaluation platform, EYEMARK.

The president launched the project monitoring website with its accompanying mobile app shortly before the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting at the council chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He noted that the federal government could no longer depend on its handful of Monitoring and Evaluation teams to oversee the vast number of infrastructure projects spread nationwide.

He said that given that his administration has invested in infrastructure projects more than any other before, it is only fitting to create adequate avenues for close monitoring by citizens.

In his address earlier, the Minister of State, Budget and National Planning, Clem Agba, said EYEMARK would empower citizens and Civil Society Organizations to monitor capital projects in real-time to promote accountability.
