Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has revealed the rationale behind his decision to remain at the LaLiga club, despite previously announcing his departure in January.
The 44-year-old initially declared his intention to step down as head coach at the end of the season, despite having a contract with the club until 2025.
However, in a surprising turn of events, Xavi has opted to continue his tenure with Barcelona following discussions with the club's president, Joan Laporta, and other key figures.
Explaining his change of heart, the former Spain midfielder cited the overwhelming confidence shown in him by the president, the board, and the players. He emphasized that he and his staff believe in the ongoing project and feel empowered to achieve significant milestones together.
"I reconsidered my decision because I received genuine support from the president, the board, and the players. This project is far from over. My team and I are united in our belief that we can achieve great things and continue advancing this project," Xavi stated.
