Africa’s Biggest Music And Entertainment Superstars storm Dakar for 8th AFRIMA In Senegal

With the highly anticipated 8th edition of the All-Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) dubbed ‘Teranga Edition’ set to take place in Dakar, Senegal on 12-15 January 2023, the award organizers have announced a stellar lineup of music performances for the AFRIMA music village concert and the main awards ceremony.

Nigerian worldwide music superstars, P-Square, will perform at the main awards event at the 15-000 capacity Dakar Arena in Dakar, Senegal, among fellow Nigerian talents Tiwa Savage, Eltee Skhillz, Pheelz, Fave, Asake, and P-Square, respectively.

Other prominent artists include Malian chanteuse Rokia Kone and Senegalese singers Yossou N’dour, Baba Maal, Viviane Chidid, and Wally B Seck.

Blxckie, Makhadzi, Kamo Mphela, and Nomfundo Moh represent Southern Africa, while Moroccan artists Marwan Moussa, El Grande Toto, and Manal represent the area.

Other prominent performers scheduled to play include Ivorian talents Bella Falcao and Didi B, as well as Tanzanian master Marioo and Kenyan superstars Bien and Bridget Blue, who will represent the Eastern area.

The Ghanaian maverick Black Sherif, Togolese veteran Toofan, Cape Verdean chanteuse Soraia Ramos, and Congolese showstopper Ya Levis front the bill.

Senegalese heavyweights Jeeba and Sidy Diop are also scheduled to perform at the AFRIMA music village concert on Friday, January 13, 2023, at the Grand Theatre in Dakar, Senegal; South African stars Jimmy Dludlu, Kelvin Momo, DJ Maphorisa, and Thapelo Lekoane, respectively; and Cameroonian showstoppers Tayc, Tenor, and Asaba, respectively.

Other performers on the main stage will include Namibian DJ Yessonia, Togolese superstar Toofan, and Ghanaian DJ Sly King.

AFRIMA’s Executive Producer/President, Mike Dada, commented on the news, stating that the AFRIMA festival was meticulously selected to showcase Africa’s rich cultural variety and tradition, as well as expose the performers to diverse music markets, in keeping with the organization’s aims.

The 8th AFRIMA will conclude on Sunday, January 15, 2023, in the Dakar Arena, which seats 15,000 people, with the live Awards ceremony aired on 104 TV stations in 84 countries across the globe.
