Controversial musician Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has declared himself a police ambassador just days after making headlines for evading arrest by police officers.

Portable shared the announcement on his Instagram page, posting photos of himself with his father and high-ranking officers at the Lagos police headquarters on Tuesday evening. This declaration came shortly after he was released from police custody, following an arrest over a debt dispute related to a Mercedes Benz GLE he purchased from a Lagos car dealer.

In a social media post, Portable explained the situation with the car dealer, claiming he had overpaid for a faulty vehicle. Despite the recent turmoil, he reaffirmed his connection with the police, proudly announcing his new role as a police ambassador and using the phrase “Police is your friend.”

He wrote, “ZAzuu Federal Government liability. Ọmọ ijoba Police Ambassador. I do music for a living ….Star don’t beg to shine. Akoi Grace Wey No Dey disgrace. I no fit run from God that’s all my believing God is over everything after God na government Police is our friends I believe in God my phone and sub any disappointment is a blessing. ZEHNATION many many inspiration.”

Netizens have lauded the singer for his resilience and ability to turn every situation to his advantage. Some fans have even dubbed him an influencer who excels in his domain. Alao Funmi commented on Instagram, “This portable GRACE will only be Disgracing his haters. Son of GRACE.” Jepptha Ogudu added, “One minute Zazuu de inside Wahala, the next minute, he is dining with kings and queens. Honestly, we have come to accept who he is.”
