 SUPREME COURT ADJOURNS HEARING IN SAMBO DASUKI’S APPEAL SEEKING FREEDOM FROM GOVERNMENT CUSTODY TO JANUARY 2018

The Supreme Court has adjourned hearing of a former National Security Adviser, retired Colonel SAMBO DASUKI’s appeal to January 25, 2018.

Colonel DASUKI has asked the Court to compel the Federal Government to obey the bail orders granted to him by the Federal High Court Abuja and obey ECOWAS CCJ Judgement that ordered his immediate release on bail.

Counsel to the plaintiff, JOSEPH DAODU argued that the suit bothers on the denial of the fundamental human rights of Mr DASUKI.

The defence counsel, ROTIMI JACOBS however contends that the former NSA was being held in protective custody due to the sensitivity of the case.

The ex-NSA was arrested by the Department of State Service on December 1, 2015 and has been in detention since that time.
