 NIGERIA BROADCASTING COMMISSION DENIES BANNING SONGS BY OLAMIDE, DAVIDO AND 9ICE

The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has denied reports that it banned songs of OLAMIDE, DAVIDO and 9ICE.

The Director of Broadcast monitoring, NBC, IDACHABA ARMSTRONG, told an online medium that the ban notice on ‘Wo’ and ‘Wavy Level’ by OLAMIDE, ‘Fall’ by DAVIDO and ‘Living Things’ by 9ICE did not come from the commission.

He said nobody at NBC issued a statement to the effect, as NBC does not ban songs nor has any business with the artists.

IDACHABA said the NBC only has a responsibility to tell stations to ensure that songs and videos are fit for broadcast before putting them on air.

IDACHABA, however, acknowledged that some of those songs are actually offensive, regarding the lyrics, insisting that the NBC would fine any station that airs indecent contents.
