LAGOS STATE GOVERNOR, AKINWUNMI AMBODE EXTOLS LATE FORMER MILITARY GOVERNOR OF DEFUNCT WESTERN REGION ADEYINKA ADEBAYO

Lagos State Governor, AKINWUNMI AMBODE has showered encomium on the late former Military Governor of the defunct Western Region, General ADEYINKA ADEBAYO (rtd).

Governor AMBODE described him as an elder statesman who worked tirelessly for the progress of the Yoruba nation and unity of the country.

The late Adebayo, who died on March 8, 2017 in Lagos at the age of 89 years, served as Governor of the Western region between 1966 and 1971.

The governor spoke at a Commendation Service in honour of the late Adebayo held at the Archbishop Vinning Memorial Church Cathedral in Ikeja, Lagos.

The deceased will be laid to rest in his home town, Iyin-Ekiti, Ekiti State on Sunday.
