FORMER TABLE TENNIS STAR WAIDI EKUN SAYS NIGERIA SPORT IS SUFFERING FROM LACK OF FUNDING.

Ex-international WAIDI EKUN has attributed the stunted development of Table Tennis in Nigeria to the lack of funding.

SEGUN TORIOLA, ARUNA QUADRY, and FUNKE OSHONAIKE have been household names in Table Tennis for over a decade and that has sparked criticism regarding the growth of the sports in Nigeria.

While speaking to the media in a Sports summit during the week in Ibadan, WAIDI EKUN described the current funding of Table tennis as a step back in comparison to his own active era. The ex-international also believes it will be difficult to produce new stars with the current level of funding in the game.
