Nigerian National League side Unicem Rovers chairman MAURICE INOK says the decision of the Nigerian National League NNL to ban the team’s IKOM home ground as unfair.
On Monday the League organisers banned the club from further hosting of NNL matches until further notice due to the bad condition of the pitch and difficulty in arranging adequate and effective security in accordance with the rules of the competition by the state FA and the club.
INOK, while speaking with Inspiration Fm`s sports DESK said the decision was too harsh and may hamper the team’s chances of gaining promotion to the Nigerian Professional Football League as the club was caught unawares.
According to the league body, all home matches of Unicem Rovers FC in the 2016/17 season will henceforth be played at UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar.
This will commence with the rescheduled week 12 match against Ikorodu United.
Unicem Rovers occupies 13th position on the NNL log with 14 points from 12games.
