Milwaukee Bucks star GIANNIS ANTETOKOUNMPO has signed a contract extension with the club worth a reported $228.2m the richest in NBA history
The 26-year-old, two-time most valuable player has agreed to a five-year deal with the total value beating the mark of $228m set by Houston Rockets guard JAMES HARDEN in 2017.
The Greek forward was drafted 15th overall by the Bucks in 2013 and would have been eligible for free agency after the 2020-21 season if he had not signed but the terms of the new contract permits him to opt out of the deal after four years.
ANTETOKOUNMPO was named the MVP for the second successive season in September and also won the defensive player of the year, becoming only the third player, after MICHEAL JORDAN and HAKEEM OLAJUWON, to earn both in the same season.
