Scott Mctominay Scores Stoppage-Time Winner For Manchester United In Europa League Win

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag lauded the belief of his side as Scott McTominay came off the bench to score a stoppage-time winner over Omonia Nicosia in the Europa League to keep alive their hopes of qualifying as group winners.

McTominay, introduced with less than 10 minutes remaining, fired in the winner after fellow substitute Jadon Sancho teed him up in the box.

Omonia, who had few opportunities at the other end, could have scored themselves on the stroke of half-time but Bruno Felipe did not square it for team-mate Andronikos Kakoullis who was completely free in the middle.

Neil Lennon's side, who went 1-0 up in the reverse fixture last week before Rashford's double helped United claim a 3-2 win, were cheered on by 4,500 visiting fans.

Omonia goalkeeper Francis Uzoho was undoubtedly the visitors' best performer as he kept out 11 of United's 12 shots on target.

But he could do nothing to stop McTominay's strike in the 93rd minute, having saved three big chances for Marcus Rashford in the first half.

The result means United remain three points behind Group E leaders Real Sociedad, who defeated 10-man Sheriff Tiraspol 3-0 for their fourth win in as many matches in the competition.

Victory means United's hopes of topping the group remains within their grasp. They face Sheriff Tiraspol at home in their next match on 27 October.

Barcelona To Wear Special Drake Shirts In El Classico

Barcelona will celebrate Drake becoming the first artist to surpass 50 billion streams on Spotify by wearing a special shirt against Real Madrid on Sunday.

The La Liga giants are sponsored by Spotify but will replace the streaming service's logo with the OVO owl logo of the Canadian rapper for El Clasico.

The ploy is part of Barcelona and Spotify's strategic aim to "bring football and music together".

"This doesn't feel real but it is," 35-year-old Drake said on Instagram.

Xavi's side will wear the special shirts with the four-time Grammy Award winner's brand logo during the match, but for the warm-up will wear shirts depicting the Spotify logo on the front and 'Drake 50' on the back.

Barcelona's marketing vice-president said Juli Guiu, "Our alliance with Spotify goes beyond a mere commercial relationship. It is a strategic relationship through which we seek to bring together two worlds that can arouse emotion - namely music and football."

"This initiative is another example of this desire and the innovative spirit of our collaboration.

"For the first time in our history, we are replacing the name of our main sponsor on the front of the jersey with an internationally acclaimed artist, Drake.

"This initiative shows our potential to become a unique platform to offer experiences that help bring us closer to our fans while reaching out to new audiences around the world."

Neymar Faces 5-Year Jail Term Over Transfer To Barcelona

A Brazilian investment firm has called for Neymar to be handed a five-year prison sentence when he stands trial next week on fraud and corruption charges relating to his transfer to Barcelona from Santos in 2013.

DIS, which owned 40% of the rights to Brazil forward at the time, argues it lost out because the transfer fee was undervalued.

The 30-year-old forward who currently plays for PSG has denied the allegations but lost an appeal in Spain's High Court in 2017, leading to the trial being brought by Spanish prosecutors.

The Paris St-Germain forward will have to appear in person for the first day of the trial in Barcelona on Monday, the court said, but it is unclear if he will be asked to stay for the entire hearing which could last two weeks.

The other defendants are Neymar's parents, the two clubs, former Barcelona presidents Josep Maria Bartomeu and Sandro Rosell, and former Santos president Odilio Rodrigues.

Rosell has also previously denied any wrongdoing.

In a statement, Baker McKenzie, the lawyers representing the Neymar family, claimed that Spanish courts "lack jurisdiction to prosecute the Neymar family and their company N&N" because the acts were committed by Brazilian nationals outside Spanish territory.

They also pointed out that the alleged crimes are not punishable in Brazil.

DIS acquired a percentage of Neymar's rights when he was 17, in exchange for 2m euros.

Barcelona said at the time of Neymar's move that the transfer fee was 57.1m euros, of which 40m euros was paid to his family.

The investment firm received a 40% share of the remaining 17.1m euros that was paid to Brazilian club Santos.

As well as the five-year jail term demand, DIS is also requesting prison sentences for Rosell and Bartomeu, and a 149m euro fine.

Spanish prosecutors are demanding for a two-year prison term for Neymar and the payment of a 10m euros fine and a five-year jail term for Rosell, plus an 8.4m euro fine for Barcelona.
