Nigerian singer and politician Banky W recently shared valuable advice on handling the quest for validation on social media. Appearing as a guest on the latest episode of the "Who's In My House" show, hosted by Hawa Magaji, Banky W discussed how he and his wife, Adesua Etomi-Wellington, maintain their privacy. He emphasized the importance of not being swayed by public opinion.

Banky W pointed out that people should avoid seeking validation from social media comments, saying, "Don't get your validation from the comments section, which is very hard to do in today's times."

He elaborated, "When you post something, you immediately want to check how many likes and comments you get. The lesson is to not seek validation from the comments section. You can find humor there, but don't let it define you."

Banky W acknowledged that it's human nature to care about others' opinions but stressed the importance of not letting those opinions control your actions. "It's unrealistic to not care because you do care what people think. The reason you shower, brush your teeth, and dress nicely is because you care about others' perceptions," he said.

"It's fine to care, but it's problematic when you let that control you. We've reached a dangerous point where people are controlled by others' opinions. Now, people do things just to trend, go viral, or fabricate stories. Susu and I continually remind ourselves not to fall into this trap, and that's how we navigate our lives," he concluded.
