Chinemenma Umeseaka aka CHICHI or Aunty Chichi (as fondly called by her teenagers), is the founder/ Chief Responsibility Officer of 9INETEEN; a teenage grooming Initiative. She is a Teenage Coach, an Inspirational Speaker, Social Entrepreneur, a Magazine Publisher, Radio show Host (on 92.3 Inspiration FM, Lagos) and TV Co-Presenter of Voice of Eve (on TVC, LTV and NTA showing on DSTV and StarTimes), and a people Builder.
Founded in 2012 by Chichi, a wife and mother of four children at age 28, now she’s 32. 9ineteen’s Mission is to nurture the Nigerian teenagers to excellence in conduct, strength in character, and world class in outlook. Our strategic approach or platform to achieving this mission includes: 9ineteen Magazine (9INETEEN) on its 8th Edition, 9ineteen Radio talk show tagged Teens Time With Chichi on 92.3 Inspiration FM, 9ineteen TV talk show and (Reality Show on the line), & 9ineteen Rise to Dare School tour.
9ineteen is in partnership with the Lagos State and Abia State Ministry of Education through the Rise to Dare School tour. In 2013 Mrs Chichi Umeseaka visited over 16 schools in Item, Igbere, Abariba, Ohafia and the environs, all in Abia State. She opened book clubs in all the schools visited, both in Abia and Lagos States and has given out over hundreds books and magazines. 9ineteen Rise to Dare school tours and the Radio program has given Chichi access to speak to and mentor over 20,000 teenagers.
She’s huge on grooming teenagers to become socially responsible and community development volunteers.
She organizes a mentorship sessions for teens/young adults to visit top leaders and business executives etc. i-Mentor enables the youth have closure with their mentors and learn closely from them; they get to ask questions and get the answers as well.
Chichi rallied over 35 teenagers/young adults and the current Miss Universe (MBGN 2014), as they joined the staff of LAWMA in Lagos to clean up the streets of Law School/ Ozumba Mbadiwe axis.
Chichi took her 9ineteen teens to set up library for Makoko Community in Lagos. Over 200 educational books/ Inspiartional materials were giving to the community.
She, on one of the days on her radio program got her listeners to support financially a struggling orphanage. RACO Homes Orphanage in Epe, have never had electricity and the teenagers in the Home made a simple ‘WISH’, that they wanted to someday have light and be able to use computer. And their wish was met, because that day they went home with a brand new generator and 50,000 naira cash.
Chichi and her Initiative (9ineteen) also partnered with Protea Hotel, Victoria Island Lagos in 2015 to celebrate Children’s Day for her teenagers and teens in the orphanage. They were heavily fed and warmly treated.
On International Women’s Day in 2015, Chichi mobilized 25 teenage girls to Vanguard Newspaper, they embarked on a peaceful campaign against rape, sexual molestation, domestic violence and teenage pregnancy.
These and many more things are some of the things that 9ineteen, through Chichi has achieved and she wants to replicate in other States.
