Benue state Governor, SAMUEL ORTOM has met with the Senate and blamed the Presidency for ignoring several warnings before the mass killings of his people by herdsmen in the state.
The meeting was part of the ongoing probe by the Senate into the security crisis in Benue State.
The governor appeared before the joint Senate Committee on Police Affairs; and National Security and Intelligence, where he denied allegations against him by the Inspector-General of Police, IBRAHIM IDRIS.
Governor ORTOM is optimistic that investigations from the hearing will enable the Senate take a proactive decision over the issue of herdsmen killings.
During his opening remarks, Senator ABU IBRAHIM, said the interface with the Benue leaders was necessary, so as to get the perspective of State in respect of the submission of the IGP.
