The controller, Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR office in Niger state, Alhaji ISA JANKARA has stated that 13 filling stations have been closed down for selling above approved pump price.
This is coming as the scarcity of Petroleum products persist in all parts of the state with some black market filling stations selling PMS as higher as 350 Naira per litre.
JANKARA stated at the weekend that the filling stations closed down were dispensing fuel at 205 Naira to 250 Naira per litre during inspection visit.
According to him, some of the stations were also involved in other form of sharp practices like hoarding the product; hence the DPR office in the state sanctioned the erring stations appropriately.
Meanwhile in Maiduguri, Borno state, the situation is not different.
Some fuel stations sell for as high as 200 Naira per litre and 220 Naira per litre.
