Governor SAMUEL ORTOM of Benue State has revealed the whereabouts of the suspected Fulani herdsmen who attacked and killed more than 60 sixty persons in the state on New Year day.
He said the attackers are in Tonga Awe Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The governor also rejected the idea of ‘cattle colonies’ proposed by the Federal Government in the wake of the herdsmen attacks.
This emerged when he visited the Presidential Villa to brief President MUHAMMADU BUHARI on the latest killings in Benue.
Governor ORTOM argued that it was necessary to regulate open-grazing in the state – a view that re-echoed the state’s anti-open grazing law which has been at the root of the recent blood spill in that part of the country.
Nasarawa state governor, TANKO AL-MAKURA however denies the claim that the Fulani militia are taking refuge in his state.
