PDP Asks National Assembly To Reject Buhari’s $5.5bn Loan

The Peoples Democratic Party has asked the National Assembly not to approve the $5.5 billion foreign loan request by President MUHAMMADU BUHARI.

The party said the move was an attempt by the ruling All Progressives Congress to plunge Nigeria into further debt and consciously mortgage the future of the nation through needless borrowing.

In a statement by the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, DAYO ADEYEYE, the opposition party asked the government to account for all the monies it borrowed since assumption of office.

The Debt Management Office, in a recent public statement, had put the Federal Government’s total borrowing within the past two years at 7.51 trillion naira
