FIFA Fines Nigeria For Crowd Trouble

The Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) has fined Nigeria 30,000 Swiss Francs, after fans invaded the pitch during a 2018 World Cup qualifier.

The game in question, is the 4-0 win over Cameroon at the Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom on September 1.

According to the information on the FIFA website, Nigeria violated article 65 and 67 of the FBC FIFA stadium and security regulations and was charged for improper conduct among spectators.

A similar incident took place on March 29, 2016, when fans ran onto the pitch during Nigeria’s game against Egypt at the Ahmadu Bello stadium in Kaduna.

Other countries fined for various offences according to the statement include Germany, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Chile, England, France and Guinea.
