The Academic Staff Union of Universities says it is looking forward to a fruitful deliberation with the federal government today, in an attempt to end the ongoing strike embarked upon by university lecturers.
President of the union, BIODUN OGUNYEMI who disclosed this in an interview in Lagos said the strike is still on but hope they will agree with government on grey areas to end the action.
He also expressed hope that the Federal government will show sincerity and commitment on their own part during the meeting.
While speaking ahead of the meeting, the National Coordinator of Education Rights Campaign, HASSAN SOWETO believes the matter will be resolves if government is sincere.
He also told Inspiration fm Head of News, TAIWO OLAPADE that ASUU must ensure compliance with the past agreements.
It will be recalled that lecturers in the nation’s universities on August 13 embarked on what they described as a comprehensive, total and indefinite nationwide strike.
