The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC says it is yet to conclude the collation of final results for Saturday’s local government elections held in the state.
LASIEC Chairman retired Justice AYOTUNDE PHILLIPS who disclosed this in an interview said the delay in the formal announcement of the results was because of the delay in result from Agbado Oke-Odo local government.
She, however, noted that the commission did its best in conducting a free and fair election and would learn from its mistakes going forward.
For one of the twelve political parties that took part in the poll, the Accord Party, the exercise was marred with wide irregularities.
Speaking further with Inspiration fm, the state Secretary of the party, LANRE OGUNDARE alleged that the exercise witnessed snatching of ballot boxes and intimidation of members of opposition parties.
