The Chief of Army Staff, TUKUR BURATAI has warned his men to stay clear of politics, giving those interested in politics the option of resigning.
BURATAI in a statement said those caught “politicking” would have themselves to blame.
He said he had information that some people were approaching officers and soldiers for political reasons.
The Army Chief reminded them that the Nigerian army is a thorough, professional, disciplined, loyal and apolitical institution that has clear constitutional roles and responsibilities.
He therefore advised all officers and soldiers interested in politics, to resign their commission or apply for voluntary discharge forthwith.
BURATAI reiterated that the army would remain apolitical and respect the constitution of Nigeria.
