The Federal Government has closed its case on the false declaration of assets and other related charges against the Senate President, BUKOLA SARAKI, after its fourth prosecution witness testified before the Code of Conduct Tribunal in Abuja.
The lead prosecuting counsel, ROTIMI JACOBS, announced this after a bank official, BAYO DAUDA, testified as the fourth and last prosecution witness.
In response, SARAKI’s lawyer, PAUL EROKORO said the defence would file a no-case submission.
Both counsels however spoke to newsmen after the hearing.
By opting to file a no-case submission instead of opening defence, the defence team believes the prosecution with its documentary evidence tendered and testimony of its witnesses was unable to prove any of the 18 counts preferred against SARAKI.
