In Abuja, the Senate has transmitted its report on the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation, BABACHIR LAWAL to the Presidency for further action.
This followed the consideration and approval of the report of its committee on mounting humanitarian crisis in North East, chaired by Senator SHEHU SANI that probed the expenditure of the Presidential Initiative on North East (PINE).
All the recommendations of the committee, including the one that sought for the prosecution of LAWAL over 500 million naira kickbacks and grass cutting contract, were approved.
While presenting its report to the upper chamber, Senator SANI said the Presidential Initiative on the North-East under the office of the SGF flouted the rules of procurement in awarding contracts.
It was gathered that the suspended SGF report was transmitted alongside that of the two ministerial nominees that were confirmed yesterday.
Meanwhile, the presidential committee investigating the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation, BABACHIR LAWAL and the suspended Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, AYO OKE, will submit its report to President MUHAMMADU BUHARI on Monday.
Senior Special Assistant to the Vice-President on Media and Publicity, LAOLU AKANDE, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists.
AKANDE said the committee chaired by Vice-President YEMI OSINBAJO was scheduled to complete its assignment yesterday.
