Power Generation hits one month daily peak of 4,553.9 megawatts

After several weeks of low power supply in Nigeria, power generation finally hit a daily peak of 4,553.90 megawatts, the highest since March 23.

This is according to an operational report released yesterday by the Nigerian Electricity System Operator, an arm of the Transmission Company of Nigeria.

According to the report, a daily peak generation of 4,553.9 mega watts was recorded on Tuesday, while the lowest generation was 3,573.4 mega watts, representing a significant improvement since low water levels at the Hydro power stations and liquidity challenges forced down generation in the past weeks.

The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, BABATUNDE FASHOLA had reassured Nigerians that power generation would ramp up to 4,000 megawatts, promising more by the time the hydro station returns to normal operation during the raining season.
