Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi calls on notherners to move on from the 13th century mindset of islam

The Emir of Kano, MUHAMMAD SANUSI the Second II has called on northerners to move on from the 13th century mindset of Islam, emphasising that the rest of the Muslim world has moved on.

Speaking while delivering the keynote speech at an event organised by the Kaduna state government to encourage investment, SANUSI said northern Nigeria has not been paying attention to providing necessary education for the girl child.

The Emir criticised the ultra-conservative interpretation of Islam in some parts of Northern Nigeria, that has discouraged girl-child education, family planning and other progressive policies.

The Emir also took a swipe at the Zamfara state Governor, ABDULAZIZ YARI’s comments on meningitis, describing it as islamically incorrect.
