The Accident Investigation Bureau, AIB has released the final report of the investigations into the crash of the Dana Aircraft 992 on June the 3rd, 2012.
The report states that the plane lost power from its two engines, adding that the second engine lost power, adding that the second engine lost power shortly before the plane was due to land, resulting in the crash.
The plane went down at the Iju-Ishaga area of Lagos, killing all crew and passengers on board, and six persons on the ground.
It explained that the crew didn’t fully understand the gravity of the situation at the time.
The Commissioner for Accident, Mr. AKIN OLATERU, listed the probable causes of the Dana crash.
The Accident Investigation Bureau said safety recommendations previously made in earlier reports have been accepted and closed by all parties concerned.
