Bayern Humiliate Arsenal in Champions League

Ten-man Arsenal were knocked out of the Champions League at the last-16 stage for the seventh successive season following a second-half capitulation against Bayern Munich.

Arsenal led through Theo Wallcott’s stunning twentieth-minute goal, but the major turning point was in the fifty-third minute, when Bayern were awarded a penalty for an incident that also resulted in the sending off of defender Laurent Koscielny.

Bayern took control of the tie from there; with Robert Lewandowski converting the penalty; as the German champions went on to complete a humiliating 10-2 aggregate win.

In the other match of the night, Real Madrid advanced to the last eight with a 6-2 aggregate win over Napoli.
