Edo state governor, GODWIN OBASEKI has opened his defence at the state election petition tribunal in the ongoing hearing of the petition filed by Pastor OSAGIE IZE-IYAMU and the Peoples Democratic Party.
Six witnesses testified at the resumed hearing, saying that the election was conducted freely and fairly in line with the Electoral Act.
He added that there were neither agitations nor complaints from anyone, including the PDP agents after the results were announced.
Counsel to the APC, Mr ADETUNJI OYEYEPO has confidence in its witnesses as it trusts them to tell the truth about the election.
More witnesses are expected to appear in the coming days as the APC and GODWIN OBASEKI seek to defend the result of the September 28, 2016 election.
