The federal government has given reasons for the current epileptic electricity supply being experienced across the country.
The government attributed the incessant breakdown of power transmission infrastructure to the non-operation of the Escravos-Lagos pipeline and the disrupted Forcados oil export terminal.
It said the Forcados oil terminal’s current state is limiting oil production that is suppose to level up gas supplies.
The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, BABATUNDE FASHOLA who disclosed this at a news conference after the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting, said the problem was also linked to financial and human factors considering that gas suppliers have not been fully paid.
FASHOLA also disclosed that the federal government has approved the completion of the abandoned Odogunyan power project in Lagos state at a revised cost of three point five billion naira.
The Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday was chaired by Acting President YEMI OSINBAJO.
