Following the attack on two students by policemen, the management of Osun State University has announced a week-long mid-semester break.
The Acting Registrar of the University SHITTU GAFAR said the management consulted with the students’ leadership before the decision was reached.
GAFAR said to further calm frayed nerves, the management and the leadership of the students agreed that the university should proceed on a one week mid-semester break with effect from Monday, 23, to Friday, January 27, 2017.
Recall that policemen allegedly shot at two students of the institution while playing football in the Oke Baale area of Osogbo, on Saturday.
The policemen were said to have stormed the football pitch and subsequently opened fire on the students, killing two and injuring many others.
