A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to release all property belonging to Ekiti state Governor AYODELE FAYOSE that were attached based on the order of the court made on July 20 and August 2, 2016.
Trial judge, Justice NNAMDI DIMGBA gave the order yesterday while ruling on the application by Governor FAYOSE through his counsel Chief MIKE OZEKHEME.
Justice DIMGBA noted that the interim orders which were made on July 20, and reaffirmed on August 3, were made to last for 45 days to enable EFCC carry out its investigations.
He further said that the orders ought to elapse on September 3, but from the court record “no application was filed by the EFCC to extend it.
However, he stated that it would be a different matter if the EFCC still occupy the property based on the order of court of other jurisdiction.
