More details are emerging as to why the senate yesterday rejected the nomination by President MUHAMMADU BUHARI of IBRAHIM MAGU as Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
According to reports, the damning DSS report which nailed MAGU was submitted to President BUHARI, Vice President YEMI OSINBAJO and Senate President BUKOLA SARAKI since October 2016.
In the report, the DSS insisted that IBRAHIM MAGU failed the integrity test and is perceived to be corrupt as he owns several property across the country he could not account for.
It also said earlier during his career in the EFCC, IBRAHIM MAGU had a confidential document in his personal possession leading to his arrest, detention and suspension from the police.
The report also said as Acting Chairman of the EFCC, IBRAHIM MAGU was only comfortable operating with policemen sent to the anti-graft agency and these Officers were found to own properties their salaries couldn’t afford.
