Access into the National Assembly this morning is a herculean task as all three entry gates have been shut by security operatives.
This is preparatory to President MUHAMMADU BUHARI’s expected visit to the National Assembly today to present the estimates of the 2017 budget to senators and members of the House of Representatives.
However, the President is still in the Gambia and there is an uncertainty that he will meet the scheduled 12pm appointment.
Members of staff have been denied access and all other organisations rendering services within the complex have been shut out.
Long queues of vehicles and crowds of anxious people are noticed along the entry points.
Reports say some principal officers of the NASS are already on the ground waiting for the President.
The 2017 budget figures is expected to be seven point zero two trillion Naira predicated on an oil benchmark of forty-two point five dollars per barrel.
And now reports just in says the president will present the budget at 2p.m.
