The Trade Union Congress has rejected the increase in data services being imposed on subscribers by the GSM telecommunication operators in the country.
The 100 percent increase in prices which is due to get underway across the country form tomorrow December One is a directive to the TELCOS by the Nigeria Communications Commission, NCC.
But reacting to the proposed hike, President of the TUC, BOBBOI KAIGAMA said it was awful that the federal government would make such a move that would make data services unaffordable.
According to BOBBOI KAIGAMA, any call for increase in data services for now most unreasonable, uncalled for, and a calculated attempt to increase the frustrations of Nigerians.
The TUC president further warned against what he called an ongoing conspiracy between the federal government through the Nigerian Communications Commission and some major Telecoms companies to increase data rates.
