The Inspector General of Police, IGP, IBRAHIM IDRIS has allayed fears of possible breakdown of law and order in the state before, during and after the November twenty six Ondo governorship election.
Speaking through Deputy Commissioner of Police DCP at the Force headquarters, Abuja, SOLA OKEDIJI at the public presentation of the Security Threat Assessment for the governorship election in the state prepared by the Cleen Foundation, in Akure, the IG said: “The forthcoming election has potential for violence going by issues surrounding the election.
However, the Police would prevent violence during the poll. All security agencies in the country will synergize to ensure peace in the state during and after the election.”
According to him, the security agencies have been meeting and strategising on ways to ensure peace in all parts of the state during the election.
