Governor-elect of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki

Edo sets up 19-member transition committee ahead of the swearing in of the governor-elect of Edo state.

Ahead of the November 12, 2016 swearing-in of the governor-elect of Edo State, GODWIN OBASEKI, of the All Progressives Congress, APC, the state government has set up a 19-member transition committee headed by the Secretary to Edo State Government, JULIUS IHONVBERE.

This came as the APC in the state described as laughable, claims by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that it was evading being served court processes, saying that after a strenuous campaign for the governorship election, the leadership of the party was expected to take a rest.

The Chief of Staff to Governor ADAMS OSHIOMHOLE, PATRICK OBAHIAGBON, is the chairman of the inauguration committee.

Outgoing Governor OSHIOMHOLE will on November 12, hand over power to his successor, OBASEKI, who defeated his closest rival in the September 28 governorship election, OSAGIE IZE-IYAMU of the PDP.
