The Nigerian military in its ‘Operation No Mercy’ offensive, has continued to sustain the successful onslaught against Boko Haram terrorists in the North East, with many of them reported to have been killed in an ambush near Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
According to the statement from the Defence Headquarters, DHQ a large number of terrorists met their waterloo after falling into an ambush laid for them by Nigerian troops between Maiduguri and Damboa.
The Director of Defence Information, Major-General CHRIS OLUKOLADE could not confirm the number of the terrorists who died in the encounter.
OLUKOLADE however said that the Boko Haram members killed in the ambush “are quite large in number.
The DHQ said the clash followed the troops’ move to stop the terrorists who were in the process of attacking electricity engineers who were working to restore power to parts of Borno State.
