The second semi final match of this year’s men Federation Cup competition will now take place at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan on Saturday, 15th October 2016.
On Monday, the Oyo State Football Association wrote to the Nigeria Football Federation to request for the shift from the earlier date of Sunday, 9th October, stating that the Oyo State Government would make use of the venue on Saturday, 8th October and Sunday, 9th October.
The match is between two –time CAF Champions League winners and seven –time Nigerian champions Enyimba FC of Aba and Nasarawa United of Lafia. The date has been approved.
Meanwhile, the NFF will on Tuesday unveil African Female Player of the Year (2014), Asisat Oshoala as the ‘Face of 2016 Women Federation Cup’.
The event will hold at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos and will herald the chain of activities lined up for this year’s Women Federation Cup final, which comes up later this month in Lagos.
The idea is to promote the game at the grassroots and help the future generation of young Nigerian players, particularly, ladies who are aspiring to attain the greatest heights in their careers having won the Fed Cup twice in 2013 and 2014 with Rivers Angels FC of Port Harcourt .
