Arsenal put in a sparkling performance to beat London rivals Chelsea 3-0 at the Emirates and go third in the Premier League table.
With 12 minutes played, Gary Cahill was caught out on the ball in front of the Chelsea 18 yard area allowing Alexis Sanchez to race through and chip coolly beyond jThibaut Courtois. Two minutes later, the Gunners doubled their lead with a superbly-worked goal as Mesut Ozil and Alex Iwobi set up Hector Bellerin to cross for a Theo Walcott tap-in.
A shell-shocked Chelsea offered little in response apart from a low Willian effort that almost went in but Arsenal struck again Ozil volleyed, a Sanchez chipped ball over Cahill and David Luiz to make it 3-0 to the Gunners.
Manchester City had to battle to a 3-1 victory away to Swansea City as they maintained their 100 percent record under Pep Guardiola.
City seized the advantage after just ninth minutes, with Sergio Aguero netting his 10th goal of the season as he made his return to Premier League action after suspension.
However, Fernando Llorente had Swansea back on level terms four minutes later, opening his account with a fine finish into the top corner. City struggled afterwards but were bailed out from in the 63rd minute, when Mike van der Hoorn fouled Kevin De Bruyne in the area and Aguero coolly converted the spot kick.
Raheem Sterling then scored his fourth league goal of the season after a neat step over to end Swansea’s hopes of a comeback.
