It is emerging that the Appeals panel of the Ondo state governorship primaries has recommended that the process which produced former president of the Nigerian Bar Association, ROTIMI AKEREDOLU as candidate be cancelled.
In the report of the panel submitted to the party’s hierarchy yesterday, the panel asked APC leadership to set aside the primaries and to organize a fresh one as soon as possible to beat the deadline set by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The panel reportedly cancelled the primary because of claims of distortion of the delegates list, as well as evidence that non-party members were recruited to participate in the exercise.
However, it was learnt that while the Chairman and Secretary of the Appeals Committee signed in support of a cancellation, three other members disagreed.
And it is now expected that the National Working Committee which could not take a position on the matter on Monday will now do so today.
