Atletico Madrid eased to a 5-0 victory over Sporting Gijon.
Antoine Griezmann scored twice in the first half either side of a Kevin Gameiro goal, with Fernando Torres’ late brace sealing an emphatic victory for the Madrid side who have been surrounded by news of their manager’s departure after his contract was revised with the club.
Barcelona now lead the La Liga table until Real Madrid play against Espanyol on Sunday evening.
