UEFA Champions league 2016/2017 preview

The 2016/2017 UEFA Champions league season commences tonight as teams from Group A – D will be in action.

Headlining the start of this campaign is the big clash between French Champions PSG hosting last season’s EPL runners up, Arsenal, their first meeting in Europe since 1994.

Coming on the heels of a shock 2-1 home defeat to new boys, Alaves, Barcelona will take on Brendan Rodgers Celtics at the Camp Nou with Luis Suarez and Andres Iniesta expected to start as Lionel Messi remains a doubt following groin issues.

Pep Guardiola continues to navigate his sides’ 100% start to the season in all competitions with a tricky tie, hosting German side, Borussia Monchengladbach; a fixture Sergio Aguero is expected to lead the line.

German Champions Bayern Munich, last season’s Champions league runners up Atletico Madrid and Italian giants Napoli will also battle it out tonight.

All matches kickoff at 7.45pm, Nigerian time.
